Bill Rustem is a lifetime hunter and fisherman who has been involved in Michigan conservation and environmental policy for his entire professional life. The numerous honors bestowed upon Rustem for his focus on conservation include having been inducted into the Michigan Conservation Hall of Fame by the Michigan United Conservation Clubs in 2016; receiving the Thomas L Washington Lifetime Achievement Award by the Michigan Natural Resources Commission in 2014 and the Ducks Unlimited Conservation Award in 2013; and being honored with the William Milliken Leadership for the Common Good Award from the Great Lakes Leadership Academy in 2012. In August of this year, he will receive the Milliken Lifetime Achievement award from the Michigan Environmental Council. Rustem served as Policy Director under two Republican Governors, William Milliken and Rick Snyder.
